A football club seated in Manchester, plays in the Premier League. United have won the Championship of England 17 times (they have won the Premier League 10 times), eleven FA Cups, two Football League Cups, UEFA Champions League 3 times, one UEFA Super Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and one Intercontinental Cup. The club, which was founded in 1878 and called Newton Heath, used to be a team of the employees of Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in Newton Heath. The club enjoys the highest average number of spectators per game in the Division, it has been on top of the statistics for the last 15 seasons. In the 2005/2006 season the average was 68 765, while in 2007/2008 it raised to 75 691 due to the expansion of Old Trafford. One of the oldest football clubs in the world, also known under the nickname The Red Devils.
